Dog Registration Terms and Conditions
Returns, Refunds and Exchanges Policy
How To Return An Item
Dog Tag. If you want to return your dog tag (broken tag, unreadable print) your item must be in its original unused condition to be returned, unless there is a manufacturer defect. Your must return the item within 30 days of your purchase.
Reg the Dog will provide a new replacement tag within 7 working days for free.
Please note, on July the 1st every year a new dog tag will be issued with the renewal of your dog licence
Reg the Dog will not cancel a dog registration once payment has been completed.
In the case of incorrect information Reg the Dog will assist the dog owner to correct the mistake and adjust the price accordingly.
In the event of a dogs death or in case of incorrect information entered into www.regthedog.co.nz please do the following:
- Please email email@example.com to request a refund and we will notify the council of your request. Please note that a refund for a dog’s death will only be granted if proof of the deceased animal is provided to the council. Reg the Dog will communicate on your behalf to the council for the purposes of a returned fee

- Include in your package a signed letter stating the reason for your return and your dogs licence number
Dog tags that have been worn, used, or altered will not be accepted for return or exchange.
Reg the Dog does not offer an exchange policy on dog licensing or tags
All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
Accepted Methods of Payment:
- Online Banking
- Credit Card (Visa, Master Card & American Express)
- Check/Money Order
- Cash at council locations in person (no cash payments to be posted to Reg the Dog)
Order confirmation & Receipt
Once payment has been made an email receipt will be sent to your email address provided at the start of the application. If an email is not entered a printed can be selected or mailed to you upon request. If paying at council premises a receipt will be provided to you in person.
Credit Card Charges
Your credit card will be charged when you place your order. If we are not able to fulfill your order for any reason your credit card will be refunded within 30 days.

All orders are shipped within 7 working days hours Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm and will not require a signature.
We use the following carriers to deliver our orders:
- New Zealand Post standard delivery
- FedEx (special delivery only where required)
If you do not receive your dog tag(s) within 7 working days please notify Reg the Dog by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone on 0800 REGDOG
In the event of a missing tag, Reg the Dog will resend a new tag within 7 working days.
Our shipping rate for dog tags at all times are free
This policy covers how we use your personal information. We take your privacy SERIOUSLY and will take all measures to protect your personal information.
What Information Do We Collect?
We only collect information that we need that is related to your order. This includes your:
- Date of Birth
- Billing Address
- Shipping Address
- Email Address
- Contact Telephone numbers
- Online Banking information
- Credit Card Information
In addition we also collect information on your IP address, browser type, and Refer URL data. We use this data to prevent hacking attempts, help us know what web browsers people are using, and find out where our visitors are coming from so that we can improve our marketing.
How Is My Information Used?
Your information is only used to fill your order. We do not sell or redistribute your information to ANYONE.
Security and Storage
Only your order data billing, shipping, and order contents data is stored on our server. This information is encrypted using a Secure Sockets Layer before it is transmitted over a web server. We do not store your Credit Card data.
Cookies and Browser Information
Cookies are small files that reside on your computer and allow us to recognize you on your next visit or store your shopping cart contents. We use them only to track this information.
